December 30, 1959 - the birthday of the Penza State Technological University, earlier - the Penza State Technological Academy, even earlier - the Penza Technological Institute, a former factory-technical school. The scientific and pedagogical potential of the PSTU was formed throughout its long history, inextricably linked with the formation and development of the industry of the city and the region. The best traditions of the technical college continue today the faculty of the university. More than 70% of teachers have academic degrees of doctors and candidates of science. Among them, scientists with a worldwide reputation: V.I. Levin, V.V. Ryzhakov and others. An important place in the learning process is computer technology. The University has a telecommunication center, a network electronic library, and a publishing house. In 1991, on the basis of INTERNET, an open access point was deployed and actively working, where students and employees can at any time receive the necessary information from any available source. Technological University is one of the few Russian universities that have their own art gallery, made up of paintings by contemporary artists. Constantly updated expositions are deployed in classrooms, lecture halls and computer classes. It has become a good tradition to regularly hold personal exhibitions and meetings with famous Penza artists at the University.
